Competitions that Cultivate Confidence and Capability
At Gymea Technology High School, we are proud of our students’ strong participation and success in academic competitions across all core learning areas. These events provide valuable opportunities for high potential and gifted learners to extend their learning beyond the classroom, challenge themselves, and reach new academic heights. At the end of every year, we celebrate the high academic achievement in our celebration assemblies; last year in 2025, many students across Years 7-10 achieved “distinction” or “high distinction”. We look forward to celebrating the same this year with our aspirational students.
Academic competitions promote essential skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and independent learning. They also offer students insightful feedback and the chance to benchmark their performance against peers across New South Wales and Australia.
To support our High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) students in the G and Y classes, we have selected a comprehensive range of high-quality competitions across English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, and Technology. These are designed to enrich student learning and encourage deeper engagement with academic content.
We also encourage students from our M, E and A classes to participate and extend their academic experience.
