Year 7 – Fieldwork Minnamurra Rainforest

Excursion Information

•   Year 7 will be going on an excursion to Minnamurra Rainforest on Thursday 5th March 2026.

•   This excursion has been planned to supplement the following work being done in the classroom:

Year 7 are learning about landscapes and landforms in Geography. This excursion will form the mandatory fieldwork component of the Stage 4 Geography course. The excursion will cover the following key inquiry questions: 

– What landforms and landscapes are found at Minnamurra Rainforest?

– What environmental and human processes form and transform landscapes and landforms at Minnamurra Rainforest?

– Why do people value the landscapes of Minnamurra Rainforest?

•   The cost of the excursion is $45 per student which is to be paid to the administration office by Thursday 26th February.

•   Year 7 will meet at 7.30am at Gymea Technology High School on Thursday 5th March and return to Gymea Technology High School at approximately 3:00 PM.

•   Travel will be by Bus.

•   Accompanying staff are: O.Corry, A. Bargarey, S. O’Farrell, M. Polianitis and G. Amerikanos 

•   Sport Uniform is to be worn to this excursion.

•  Students are to bring their own recess, lunch and a water bottle as there will be no opportunity to purchase lunch at the rainforest. A hat and sunscreen will also be required. 

•  Students will also be required to bring a pen, pencil and a clipboard.
