Excursion Information
• Our school Swimming Carnival will be held at Caringbah Leisure Centre on Friday 27 February 2026. All teaching staff and students will be attending the carnival.
• Swim Test: Year 7 students will participate in a swim test prior to the start of carnival events. Please advise your child to come prepared for this. The swim test a NSW mandatory requirement for students who participate water based activities on school camps and excursions.
• Participation: The Swimming Carnival is a whole school event. All students are expected to attend. Attendance and participation at all major carnivals enables your child to have the opportunity to participate in zone and regional carnivals as well as other representative activities.
• Cost and Travel: Travel to and from the carnival can be with a parent, or alternatively, by bus organised by the school. Please indicate on the permission note payment Option A or Option B for your child. Students are not permitted to ride their bikes or e-bikes to this activity.
Option A: Cost is $9.00 per student for pool entry only. Your child will travel to and from the carnival with a parent.
Option B: Cost is $24.00 for pool entry and bus. Your child will travel to and from the carnival by school organised buses.
• Payments need to be made to the administration office by Friday 20 February 2026.
• Buses will depart from Gymea at 8:00 am and will return at approximately 2:30 pm.
• Uniform and Sun protection: Sport Uniform is to be worn. Students should have a hat and sunscreen as there is limited shade available.
• Food: Students are advised to bring their own lunch. If they wish to purchase food from the pool canteen they will need a card as it is cashless.
• The carnival will involve the following water or swimming activities: Structured swimming carnival competition and novelty events. These activities will take place at Caringbah Leisure Centre. The school will provide a PFD for students who need it.
• Zone Qualification: Students who place in the top 4 in the 50m freestyle and top 2 in all other events will qualify to complete at the zone carnival the following Monday 2nd of March at Sutherland Leisure Centre. These students will be notified on the day of our carnival and via email and will meet at the venue at 8:30am. The entry cost is $13.40.
