Excursion Information
• A selected group of year 10 students will be attending the Qantas Headquarters on Friday 21 March 2025 at 10 Bourke Street Mascot.
• This excursion has been planned as part of Qantas’s commitment to gender inclusion, Women in Technology are reaching out to young girls to support their interests in technology early on. Qantas Group have planned to hold a half-day event where they will provide an overview of some of the tech areas within Qantas that can help girls understand what career options Technology might offer and decide their future careers in technology.
This event will be an excellent opportunity for young girls to engage with technology and understand the vast possibilities it offers for their future careers.
AGENDA
. Brief overview of why the event is taking place
. Short overviews of the different Tech career opportunities hosted by employees within those teams
. Opportunity to meet and ask questions to these guest employees
. An interactive game/ activity
. A quick visit to some of the working spaces for our tech teams- Cyber security team and Integrated Operations Centre
. Merchandise
•Students will arrive at 8:50am for a 9am start. The event will finish at 1.30pm. Students must make their own way there.
• Students are to make their own transportation arrangements to and from the venue at Qantas Headquarters 10 Bourke Street Mascot. The office is a very short walk away from Mascot train station and there are also bus stops close by. If you are catching the train you will need to change at Wolli Creek Station to Mascot Station.
• Catered morning tea and Lunch will be provided take a water bottle.
• School Uniform is to be worn to this excursion.
• There will be no teacher from school accompanying students.
