Students from the Student Leadership Assembly recently embarked on an exciting excursion aimed at honing their leadership skills. The conference, held by the Youth Leadership Academy Australia, invited schools from all over New South Wales to participate in a day of education and networking amongst the young leaders from different schools. The trip into the International Convention Centre Sydney offered the students valuable lessons in teamwork and inspired them to take ownership of their roles as emerging leaders in our school.

A highlight was the various key speakers who shared their own stories of success and explored key leadership qualities like empathy and accountability. Hearing from other schools about their initiatives they are undertaking from environmental awareness to accessibility for all students, inspired students from GTHS to discuss how they would like to make a positive difference in our school.

As the day ended, students returned home with renewed confidence and a sense of purpose. They’re now eager to apply their newfound skills to make a positive impact in our school.
