Head Start to High School is our unique transition to high school program that has seen our incoming Year 7 students feeling confident and connected to their new school as they begin their high school journey. Running since 2015, the program has continued to evolve to ensure it meets the needs of our students and parents in preparing them for the changes that high school brings.

The last two years saw significant changes to the program given the restrictions to visitors on our site. This year, we are excited to be able to welcome our new families back into our face to face sessions on our beautiful school grounds to be able to really explore their new school.

The program begins next Tuesday, 26 August with student workshops in Maths, PE and Technology allowing our Year 7 2023 students a chance to see what high-school learning in these courses as well as provide a safe, exciting environment to meet each other and begin forming new friendships. For parents, they will again be able to participate in their face-to-face workshops led by our Executive team that help to inform them about our systems and processes, what to expect for their child as they begin their high school journey at Gymea and how they can best assist them to become successful learners at high school.

Head Start to High School runs over three consecutive Tuesday evenings from 4:30pm – 6:00pm exploring the range of Year 7 subjects for our students and a series of important parent workshops that our current parents have provided feedback on. This program also extends into Term 4 with our Information Session, Family Interviews and Orientation Day that allows us to build a clear and strong connection with all of our new and existing families as your child takes their next important step in their learning journey.

We are looking forward to meeting our families, new and existing on Tuesday afternoon!
